Dr. Robert Shannon is the only surgeon in Central Oregon who is fellowship-trained in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He completed his fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa with world-renowned shoulder surgeon Dr. Mark Frankle, where he learned advanced techniques in shoulder arthroscopy and shoulder replacement surgery.
Another native Central Oregonian, Dr. Shannon attended Oregon State University graduating in the top 1% of his class. He then completed his MD at Oregon Health Sciences University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was selected for the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He went on to Syracuse, New York for his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Shannon has published multiple articles in leading orthopedic journals, including the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
Dr. Shannon is an avid skier and has been a physician for the US Ski Team. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and friends in the great outdoors of Central Oregon.
