Dr. Catherine Platt received her BS in Engineering Mechanics from the United States Air Force Academy and her MD from the University of Florida College of Medicine. She completed a Family Medicine Residency with the St. Mark’s Family Medicine residency program in Salt Lake City, UT. She is grateful to have worked for many years with patients and families through the full spectrum of care in Family Medicine. As a family physician, she gained an appreciation for the burden of chronic pain.
Dr. Platt received advanced training as a Pain Management Fellow with the University of California, Davis Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. She is trained in interventional pain procedures such as fluoroscopy-guided injections, spinal cord stimulator neuromodulation, and implanted medication pumps. Dr. Platt is board-certified in Family Medicine and Pain Medicine.
Dr. Platt’s focus is multidisciplinary Pain Management, including Cancer Pain Management. Her goal is to establish a strong patient-physician relationship to understand the many factors contributing to a patient’s pain experience and to implement a customized treatment plan that may include interventional pain procedures, medications, physical therapy, acupuncture, pain psychology, diet, exercise, sleep, and stress management.
After 25 years traveling the world with the United States Air Force, Dr. Platt, her husband Steve, and two children are enjoying the sunny skies, abundant outdoor recreation, and beauty of central Oregon.
