Dr. Jon Swift, Jr. received his BA and MA in Kinesiology from the University of Texas in Austin and his doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN, then moving to Oregon for a Pain Medicine fellowship at OHSU. In his fellowship, Dr. Swift received advanced training in interventional pain control techniques such as fluoroscopy-guided injections, spinal cord stimulator neuromodulation, and implanted medication pumps. Dr. Swift is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as Pain Medicine.
Dr. Swift specializes in diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and pain, including injuries and painful conditions of the the neck, lower back, nerves and joints. He takes a comprehensive approach to orthopedic treatment, utilizing medications, injections, collaboration with other health professionals, (physical therapist, chiropractors, acupuncturist, sleep and mental health professionals), and using advanced pain control techniques when needed. Dr. Swift has advanced training in musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound for evaluation of injured limbs, guided injections to deep tissues and joints, as well as spinal cord stimulation, and spine and joint injections. He has a special interest in regenerative medicine with biological treatments such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), complementary medicine and functional medicine.
Dr. Swift and his wife enjoy skiing, hiking and stand-up paddle boarding in central Oregon. He has played drums professionally and continues to play drums in local bands.
